- CCISD’s Independent Study Mentorship (ISM) matches practicing professionals with junior and senior students enrolled in the ISM course to connect the future workforce with real-world experiences in their field of interest. From aerospace engineering and real estate to dentistry and maritime, mentors share guidance and meaningful experiences for their mentee, at an entry level, providing a clear picture of the career path. CCISD utilizes the GetMyIntern platform to provide a centralized and online network to match and manage the lifespan of the mentorship, with support from the teacher.
- Yearlong course
- Students meet with the mentor one hour per week at the work site
- Remaining time is spent in class on research and project development under the guidance of the mentor and teacher
- Mentorships are unpaid
